The Amazon Kindle has received mixed reviews, but the general public appears to have taken a shine to it.  It blows Steve Jobs's ignorant assumption that no one reads any more out of the water.  You might not read Steve, but I still do and you can bet the people that bought out the entire Amazon Kindle stock still do as well.  I think Amazon is onto a winner here and I definitely see them coming forward with an Amazon Kindle Mk II sometime in the future.  People might have initially balked at the $400 price tag, but when you consider that it frees you from having to fill your home with mountains of books, it seems a small price to pay; add to that the fact that downloaded books are cheaper than the real thing (though still not as cheap as I would like).

Stocks of the Amazon Kindle have run dry at the moment but shipping is expected to resume soon.

The Big Crunch Clock assumes that the earth will remain inhabitable until our sun dies.  I am not so optimistic and feel that humanity will be wiped out long before then, but I will give the Big Crunch Clock its day in court.  It is a really cool concept and it performs no really useful function.  All it does is countdown the years that we have remaining, apparently there are 4,999,999,991 more to go and displays all of the information on a 20 digit LED screen.  I seriously doubt that the Big Crunch Clock will survive longer than twenty years, let alone the approximate 5,000,000,000 that it would be required to last through in order to fulfill its function.

Every year dogs die because people leave them in cars.  Dogs don't sweat, so the only means that they have to cool themselves down is panting.  That only gets them so far.  The Hotdog is a clever little vehicle gadget that functions as an alarm for when the temperature in your motor vehicle becomes dangerously hot.

If the car goes over a preset temperature, the Hotdog kicks in.  It will open two windows and start honking your horn and flashing your lights.  It will also page you if you set it to do so.  All in all, it is a pretty good gadget for dog owners that frequently travel with pets.

The ClearChat PC headset from Logitech has been a long time coming.  Sure there have been perfectly acceptable Skype headsets on the market for years, but nothing as plush as the Clear Chat.  The 2.4GHz Wireless will give you up to 10m of range.  10m does not sound that far, but if you live in cramped accommodations like mine, it should be plenty.

The Logitech Clear Chat is pricey but within reason.  At $100 it is enough to make some people think twice, but I am betting that there are more than enough serious Skypers out there to make this thing a hit.  I will definitely be getting myself one of these.
