e-InkAmazon Kindle Selling Like HotcakesSubmitted by C.S. Magor on Fri, 03/21/2008 - 22:54.
The Amazon Kindle has received mixed reviews, but the general public appears to have taken a shine to it. It blows Steve Jobs's ignorant assumption that no one reads any more out of the water. You might not read Steve, but I still do and you can bet the people that bought out the entire Amazon Kindle stock still do as well. I think Amazon is onto a winner here and I definitely see them coming forward with an Amazon Kindle Mk II sometime in the future. People might have initially balked at the $400 price tag, but when you consider that it frees you from having to fill your home with mountains of books, it seems a small price to pay; add to that the fact that downloaded books are cheaper than the real thing (though still not as cheap as I would like). Stocks of the Amazon Kindle have run dry at the moment but shipping is expected to resume soon. Source: Gear Log TopicsHacking
